This event was AWESOME!  I had some people actually ask why would I emcee / perform / entertain for over a 13 hour period and not get paid.  Well, our men and women of our military are worth it!  Many of our military gave their lives for our freedom and at the very least I can give my time.  To see all of the supporters of our military at this event moved me several times throughout the day.  There were over 30 sponsors and almost 30 vendors just to give you an idea how big this was.  There was a huge fire truck from the Searcy Fire Department with its 72’ ladder extended and supporting a massive American flag and MIA / POW flag at the top.  We even had the Army National guard from the 39th Brigade on site and those guys are AWESOME!  Everywhere you looked you could see bikes, cars, vendor tents, sponsors, people mingling among much more stuff.

The day started out with the opening ceremony that one could only stand in silence and take in what was happening in the most honoring way of our military.  America the Beautiful and Taps were played from an old style trumpet, Barbie sang the Star Spangled Banner!  I introduced Searcy Mayor David Morris and he read the proclamation for Veterans Appreciation day.  The president of the Rolling Thunder group said a few words.  Pastor Joe from New Liberty Baptist Church of Beebe blessed the day and event with our opening prayer.  WOW!

The rest of the day included music by the Gospel Outlaws, Transcend, MuddleStuds, and Raising Grey as the headliners.  Although it was hotter than my ex-wife when she found out she couldn’t get half, people had a BLAST!  There was a car and bike show with some VERY kick awesome rides in the mix.  Of course there was something for everyone like the Poker Run, kid’s bouncy houses, a dunk tank without the ‘r’, mud volley ball, lots and lots of prizes, Biker Olympics, and to close out the evening there was a VERY IMPRESSIVE fireworks show.

I had just as much fun as probably everyone else.  I ate lots of food, played pranks on people including the kiddos, I dunked a couple of people in the dunk tank and I even got in and got dunked too… I ain’t scared.  Then I hung out with Kyle Osborne, the Chief of Police of Searcy that is running for State Representative District 46.  That is one down to earth guy that was awesome to hang out with.  He is very much a people person which means he would be for the people because he is one of the people.  Arkansas State Representative Mark Biviano was also present at the event.  We I had a lengthy political conversation and I have to say that he made some pretty impressive points about business to politics and is worth listening to.  Then I announced Governor Mike Beebe that also made an appearance and he even remembered when he photo bombed a picture with me at Diamond Bear Brewery as we prepared to tap a keg.  Mike is another very cool cat.  This event definitely had an all all-star cast of people and celebrities, including myself of course, hahaha.

I met a LOT of great people but I suck at names but I loved meeting everyone.  Jeff Roland and his family were absolutely INCREDIBLE and treated me like part of their family.  A HUGE thank you goes out to Jeff for booking me to be the emcee / comedic dude.  The appreciation plaque I was given was awesome, it was solid steel and plasma cut with the MIA / POW logo in it.  It was a huge honor for me to show love to the Veterans and recognition to our MIAs and POWs.  I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do enough for them.

I look forward to being part of next year’s event and thank you all so much!
