This was a true showing of how Arkansas shows their love for their own.  Arkansans came out in the most moving and beautiful support of our local comedians in Arkansas.  It truly touched my heart seeing the crowd cheer on the comedians as they worked hard to make top spot.

To be able to co-host and coordinate such an event with my partner Patrick (aka  Angry Patrick) was an AWESOME experience.

What an unbelievable night of some of the Top Talented comedians in Arkansas!!!  As far as I am concerned, they are all winners having the courage to step on stage.  Age ranges from 18 to almost 70.
The night started with 25 comedians participating and competing to become the top 10 to move the semi-finals on April 11th, 2009 again at Juanita’s in Little Rock, Arkansas.  The doors will open at 8PM and the show starts at 9PM.

For the first night, the house was packed to capacity and beyond.  We hate that not everyone could get in to experience the 1st round of the very 1st Annual Arkansas’ Funniest Person contest.  We hope that you will be able to make it to the 2nd round.  Who knows, you may be witnessing someone becoming famous and you would be able to say, ‘I saw them when….’.

HERE THEY ARE (In no certain order):
Amy Pannell
Michael Brown
Tommy Kelley
Mista Stick Wayne
Chucky D
Reuben the Meatman
Josi De
Jason Thompson
Big Chill

Once again, what a honor for me to work with my partner Patrick (aka Angry Patrick), of which I could have never done this without him nor would I have wanted to.

Thanks to our support teams, Rick and Justin with Your Personal Paparazzi for capturing the night on video and the post show work that will do to bring it all together for the Contest in Review.  Thanks to Greg with GT Graphixs for all of the INCREDIBLE graphics work on our web flyers, logos, etc.  Thanks to Tricia Strayhorn for my promotional photos that I have used for so much of my work.  (Let me know if you want information about them)

A special thanks goes out to our sponsors, The Point 94.1, The Edge 100.3, Fite Electric, Play N Trade and our Presenting Sponsor Sync Weekly Magazine!!!  Sync’s own Lauren also covered the event with photography and video interviews.  Without these sponsors and partners the show would not have been possible.  Thanks to Juanita’s for providing a wonderful venue! Even with the large crowd, they did their thing and got the job done.

The judges were a hoot and are truly appreciated.  Jennifer Trafford from The Point, Stacie Mack from Divine Images and Matthew Baker, Esquire did their thing and did an awesome job scoring and provided great feedback to the contestants.

A huge thanks and hug to the fans and comedian supporters that came out to cheer on their family / friends on stage or just there to experience this once in a lifetime event.
Once again, I hope you all had a great time and hope to see you at the next show April 11th.
